Type
Original Power Steering lines tend to be made from solid pipe with a swivel male nut and flared ends with seal.
Power steering adaptors replace the male thread, flared pipe end and seal with a fixed thread and seal to an alternative thread.
Thread Types: AN/JIC, Metric, O-RING Boss.

In the event of a power steering hose or pipe failure or modification of the system, these handy Power Steering Adaptors will seal perfectly into the pump/rack, leaving a much more common -6 AN (JIC 9/16″) fitting.
This makes the replacement hose/pipe a lot more straight-forward and less costly.
For the perfectionist we can still make a pipe to pattern, with the correct Power Steering Adaptors.

AN and JIC are common terminology for what is effectively the same thread.AN (Army Navy) dash 6 is equivalent to JIC (Joint Industry Council) dash 6 or 9/16″ -18.
